HARRISBURG- House Resolution 445, introduced by Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware), was passed by the Pennsylvania House of Representative today. House Resolution 445 designates the week of October 23-29, 2011 as “Respiratory Care Week” in Pennsylvania to celebrate the contribution respiratory therapists make to the health care system.

Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware) and a majority of members in the House of Representatives passed the 2011-12 state budget Wednesday evening. With the approval of both the House and Senate the budget will go to the governor for his signature.

House Bill 1269, introduced by Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware), passed the House of Representative by a vote of 201-0. House Bill 1269 would create several new special vehicle license plates for recipients of the following military honors: Silver Star, Bronze Star, Bronze Star for Valor, Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Navy Cross, and the Air Force Cross.

State Rep. William F. Adolph Jr. (R-Delaware) was among 94 House members who today opposed a severance tax measure (Senate Bill 1155) that would impose the largest levy of its kind in the nation. Citing concerns that the rate of tax would cost jobs and noting the plan shortchanged local communities, Adolph felt it was the wrong approach to a pressing state issue.

Working in cooperation with local police, Rep. William F. Adolph Jr. (R-Delaware) has introduced legislation that would provide local departments an opportunity to better train officers in a more cost-effective manner. The measure (House Bill 17) would expand options for municipal police training and change the time frame in which required courses must be completed.

State Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware) would like to remind Delaware County residents that Pennsylvania will soon conduct a tax amnesty program for those who have outstanding state taxes. The program, which will be led by the Department of Revenue, will begin on April 26 and continue through June 18.

The state House today approved Governor Rendell’s $29 billion budget proposal for the 2010-11 fiscal year (HB 2279) by a vote of 107-89 despite pressing concerns from Rep. William F. Adolph Jr. (R-Delaware). Reiterating the same points of contention he expressed the day the budget was introduced – excessive spending, unreliable revenues and future financial challenges – Adolph voted against the plan and again called for fiscal responsibility in the coming year’s budget.
