Legislature and Governor Announce Agreement on Budget Spending Figure
HARRISBURG – House Appropriations Chairman Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware) and leaders from the House and Senate joined Governor Corbett at a Wednesday evening press conference to announce an agreement on a spending figure for the Fiscal Year 2012-13 state budget.
The legislative leaders and the Governor have agreed on a spending figure of $27.656 billion.
“This agreement now allows us to move forward so we can work on a final budget for the FY 2012-13. This spend number gets state spending back to pre-stimulus levels and puts Pennsylvania on a sustainable path going forward. The $27.656 billion spending figure comes in under the FY2008-09 spending. The agreed upon number also includes restorations based upon improved revenue collections since February of this year,” said Adolph.
Now that all parties have agreed on a spending number, the House, Senate and Administration will work over the next several days to find agreement on several outstanding details in the overall budget.
